More than 35 years ago, I owned and operated a successful property management company in Whistler, Canada. After selling the business, I set off to travel through Latin America, never imagining that one stop would become home.
What began with the purchase of a single apartment in Panama soon turned into a much larger adventure. I fell in love with the country, its people, and the relaxed lifestyle. Before long, I was buying, renovating, and managing vacation properties, welcoming guests from around the world.
Today, Panama Holiday Homes is home to Coronado Casitas, a collection of vacation rentals that has been welcoming guests for nearly 20 years. But the heart of the property has always been the people.
When I bought the property, Vilma was already living at the front and became part of the story from day one. Nearly 20 years later, she is still here as our trusted housekeeper and part of the family. José, our gardener and pool caretaker, lived across the street and has also become a dear friend and part of the family. He keeps the gardens beautiful, cares for the pool, and even helps with interior design ideas.
That is what makes this place special. It is not just the casitas, the gardens, or the location. It is the community, the neighbors, the friends, and the support system that has grown around it.
